Château d’Yquem is the undisputed crown jewel of Sauternes, renowned for producing the world’s greatest sweet wine. The 1990 vintage stands among the most celebrated of the late 20th century, marked by a warm and sunny growing season that led to incredibly rich and concentrated fruit. This wine is made primarily from Sémillon with a touch of Sauvignon Blanc, affected by noble rot (botrytis cinerea), which imparts complexity, sweetness, and longevity. Over three decades later, this vintage is still evolving gracefully, showcasing deep golden hues and extraordinary aromatic intensity.

Critic Tasting Notes: “An extraordinary effort, Yquem's 1990 is a rich and fabulously superb, sweet wine. This wine also possesses lots of elegance and finesse. The wine's medium gold color is accompanied by an exceptionally sweet nose of honeyed tropical fruits, peaches, coconut, and apricots. High quality, subtle toasty oak is well-integrated. The wine is massive on the palate, with layers of intensely ripe botrytis-tinged, exceptionally sweet fruit. Surprisingly well-integrated acidity, and a seamless, full-bodied power and richness have created a wine of remarkable harmony and purity. Certainly it is one of the richest Yquems I have ever tasted, with 50-100 years of potential longevity. An awesome Yquem! Anticipated maturity: 2003-2050+.” – Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (99 pts)

Biondi-Santi is the historic birthplace of Brunello di Montalcino and remains one of Italy’s most respected estates. Known for their traditional style and exceptional aging potential, Biondi-Santi’s wines are crafted exclusively from Sangiovese Grosso grown on the estate’s high-altitude vineyards. The 1997 vintage is heralded as one of the greatest of the 1990s, producing structured, age-worthy wines of remarkable purity and restraint. The Riserva bottling is only made in exceptional years and spends extended time in large Slavonian oak casks.

Critic’s Tasting Notes: “This is just a baby. So dense and refined. Superb intensity and power. Full-bodied, tight and exciting. Incredible. Spice, tea leaf and berry. Goes on for minutes. Better in five or six years but beautiful now. Decant two hours in advance of serving.” – James Suckling (96 pts)

As one of the five First Growths of Bordeaux, Château Lafite Rothschild is synonymous with elegance and prestige. The 2000 vintage is legendary — both for Bordeaux in general and for Lafite in particular — combining power, refinement, and remarkable aging potential. Composed predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and a small amount of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it is a wine of intense structure and layered complexity, destined to last for generations.

Critic’s Tasting Notes: “The nose is fresh, bright, and dense. With aromas of violets, minerals, spices, cool stones, mint, dark fruits, and plum skins, this is beautiful. Very much still a baby right now, it needs much more time. This is a wine for the next generation. Finesse and elegance, truly a wine that makes you contemplate life. This is not about power, there is really nothing like it. 93% Cabernet Sauvignon. Do not even think about touching this for another ten years, 2020. 15+25+25+35. (1x) Champagne Salon Le Mesnil 2013 750ml 
Salon is one of Champagne’s most exclusive houses, producing a single cuvée — a vintage Blanc de Blancs made entirely from Chardonnay from the Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Released only in exceptional years, the 2013 vintage is a rarity with laser-like precision and crystalline purity. The long lees aging brings depth and finesse, while the wine’s chalky minerality and bracing acidity provide the structure for decades of cellaring.

Critic’s Tasting Notes: “2013 is a cool, late-ripening vintage in Champagne, defined by an October harvest in cool but sunny conditions. With a dosage of 5.5 grams per liter, the 2013 Brut Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil possesses a complex, fruity bouquet mingling aromas of orchard fruit with notions of lemon oil, exotic fruits, spring flowers, almond and hints of menthol and buttery pastry. Full-bodied, rich and dense, with lively acids, it’s more complex and incisive than the 2002 and exhibits similar power to the 2012 at this early stage. Despite what was a challenging growing season for some producers, this is a superb Salon with a long, resonant finish.” – Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate (97 pts)

(1x) Penfolds Grange 2017 750ml 
Penfolds Grange is Australia’s most iconic wine and a global benchmark for Shiraz. The 2017 vintage is a powerful expression crafted from old vines across multiple South Australian vineyards. While predominantly Shiraz, it often contains a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in new American oak barrels. Known for its richness, bold fruit, and luxurious texture, Grange has an impressive track record for aging, with many vintages maturing for 30–50 years.

Critic’s Tasting Notes: “Memorable, complex, aromatic and explosively deep, with a mix of palo santo, dark chocolate, black olive, espresso and hazelnut butter. The pure fruit at the core is a mix of ripe huckleberry, boysenberry and wild blackberry, with dense but polished tannins. Savory notes of dried rosemary and sage, cigar box, dried apricot and sandalwood linger on the epic finish. Drink now through 2045.” – MaryAnn Worobiec, Wine Spectator (98 pts)

Pingus is one of Spain’s most cult-status wines, produced in tiny quantities by Danish winemaker Peter Sisseck. Made from old-vine Tempranillo using biodynamic farming and meticulous vinification, Pingus consistently garners top scores from critics and is revered for its intensity, purity, and finesse. The 2018 vintage is especially harmonious, balancing lush fruit with exceptional precision and mineral depth.

Critic’s Tasting Notes: “I was really looking forward to the bottled version of the 2018 Pingus after a great showing of the cask sample last year. Part of the wine matured in 20,000-liter oak casks, so it's not all barrique. This is the first time they used the vats, and based on the results, Sisseck thinks in the future Pingus will be around 50% in oak vats. The Pingus vines were planted in 1929 in two different sectors of the village of La Horra, Barroso and San Cristobal and contain some 2% other varieties. The vineyards are certified organic and biodynamic and are manicured like few vineyards in Spain. The wine is subtle and harmonious, elegant and insinuating, with all the components in very good balance. This is precise and pure; Sisseck is thorough and meticulous, and the wine shows that precision. This follows the line of the 2016, showing very well even if it was bottled only one month before I tasted it. 9,300 bottles were filled in August 2020.” – Luis Gutierrez, Wine Advocate (100 pts)
