History: Chateau Leoville Las Cases is a prestigious winery in the Bordeaux region of France, producing one of the finest red wines in the world. It is classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Wine Official Classification, but it is often referred to as the “6th First Growth'' by critics and fans alike. The estate has a long and rich history dating back to the 17th century and covers 97 hectares of vineyards, planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wines have a distinctive style that combines power, elegance and complexity. Chateau Leoville Las Cases is owned by the Delon family, who also own Chateau Potensac in the Medoc and Chateau Nenin in Pomerol.  Recently during the 2022 vintage tasting En Primeurs, Leoville Las Cases made history by receiving 100pt scores from 18 different critics/publications. The 'collection miroir' is a unique and exclusive selection of wines from Chateau Leoville Las Cases, one of the most prestigious estates in Bordeaux. The collection reflects the diversity and excellence of the terroir, the history and the savoir-faire of the winemaking team. Each bottle is a mirror of the vintage, the vineyard and the style of Leoville Las Cases, offering a rare and unforgettable experience to the wine lovers. Collection (1x) Château Leovilles Las Cases 1982 750ml 99 Jeb Dunnuck, 97 Wine Advocate “Tasted at the domaine, the 1982 Leoville Las Cases is just about pure perfection, and while certainly mature, it has plenty of life ahead of it. Thrilling notes of blackcurrants, kirsch, tobacco leaf, cedar box, menthol, and exotic spices all emerge from this seamless, powerful yet magically elegant Leoville Las Cases. Opening up in the glass, with a smoky, singular character, it's an incredible wine from this terroir that has an almost Latour-like regal quality. It should continue drinking well for another 10-15 years and I'm sure will keep even longer.” - Jeb Dunnuck (1x) Château Leovilles Las Cases 1990 750ml 98 James Suckling, 96 Wine Advocate “This is so classic, with a beautiful nose of blackcurrants, bell pepper, lead pencil, herbs, blackcurrant leaf and tobacco. Elegant and very fine. Medium-bodied with silky tannins. Turns to sweet berry fruit after a while. This has real Bordeaux soul. Drink or hold.” - James Suckling (1x) Château Leovilles Las Cases 1996 750ml 98 Wine Advocate “The 1996 Leoville-Las Cases is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 16% Cabernet Franc picked between 25 September and 10 October (for fascinating insight, read Robert Parker's remarks about the blend with Michel Delon in the original tasting note). Now at 20 years, it has evolved into an absolutely stunning Saint Julien, clearly one of the best wines from the estate this decade. The bouquet is beautifully defined with intense black cherries, cedar, mint and a touch of oyster shell that seems to gain intensity in the glass. The palate is seamless from start to finish, extraordinarily pure, the 70% new oak totally assimilated of course, impressive weight and power allied with genuine finesse and tension towards the silky smooth finish. It stands as one of the best wines of the vintage without one iota of doubt and it will last 30-40 years without problem. You might call it "proper Claret." You might call it "delicious." Tasted July 2016.” - Neil Martin, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate (1x) Château Leovilles Las Cases 2000 750ml 100 Wine Spectator, 100 Wine Enthusiast, 100 James Suckling “Absolutely fantastic. This is one of the most exciting young reds I have tasted in a long, long time. It shows intense aromas of berries, currants and minerals, with hints of mint. Full-bodied and packed with fruit and tannins, its long finish is refined and silky. A benchmark for the vintage. Las Cases has always wanted to make first-growth quality in a top-notch vintage, and it certainly did in 2000. Best after 2012. 15,000 cases made.” - Wine Spectator, Wine #5/100 of 2003 (1x) Château Leovilles Las Cases 2005 750ml 99 James Suckling, 98 Wine Advocate, 98 The Wine Independent, 98 Wine Spectator, 98 Vinous “The 2005 Leoville Las Cases is a blend of 87.6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7.6% Merlot, and 4.8% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-brick in color, it explodes with black and blue fruit preserves notes before giving way to a spray of creme de cassis, hoisin, Indian spices, and crushed rocks scents. The medium-bodied palate is finely knit with elegantly styled, fragrant black fruit and earthy layers, supported by firm, densely pixilated tannins and lively acidity, finishing long and opulent. At a sweet-spot in its evolutionary curve, poised between fruitiness and a tertiary spice bomb, this is gorgeous right now, although it will cellar easily to 2055+. Leoville Las Cases is owned by the Delon family - now Jean Hubert Delon. It consists of 125 different parcels, but the heart of the estate is a walled clos that borders Latour, including around 124 acres (out of 240 in total). Of all the Saint-Julien estates, Leoville Las Cases is the closest to the estuary and to Pauillac, so in some vintages it can seem more like a Pauillac. The style here is more concentrated and opulent than other Saint-Juliens with a firmer backbone. It does behave, in many respects, like a Pauillac, except with more perfume and decadence.” -Lisa Perrotti-Brown (formerly at Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate), The Wine Independent (1x) Château Leovilles Las Cases 2009 750ml 99 James Suckling, 98 Wine Enthusiast, 98 Wine Spectator, 98 Jeb Dunnuck “This is gorgeously layered with cassis bush, anise, roasted fig and plum reduction notes all framed by racy espresso and graphite. Very deep and very long, with terrific intensity on the finish thanks to razor cut from the seemingly endless iron spine. With its purity and precision, this mineral-driven Cabernet should cruise for two decades. Best from 2020 through 2035. 14,165 cases made.” - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator
