Planting Tips & Instructions:
Choose the Right Location
- Full sun is ideal (at least 6 hours daily).
- In very hot climates, provide light afternoon shade.
- Select a site protected from strong winter winds.
Prepare the Soil
- Requires well-draining soil.
- Avoid heavy clay or areas where water collects.
- Amend dense soil with compost to improve drainage.
Planting Steps
- Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and equal in depth.
- Place plant so the top of the root ball is level with surrounding soil.
- Backfill with native soil and gently firm.
- Water deeply after planting.
Spacing
- Space 2–3 feet apart for privacy or hedge effect.
- Allow room for mature width (2–3 ft.).
Mulching
- Apply 2–3 inches of mulch around the base.
- Keep mulch 1–2 inches away from the trunk.
