This extraordinary 24-bottle magnum vertical of Château Haut-Brion spans every vintage from 1992 through 2015, offering a rare sensory and historical journey through one of Bordeaux’s most legendary First Growths. In magnum format, each wine reveals amplified depth, refinement, and aging harmony. Together, these magnums form a living archive of Haut-Brion’s evolution—a compelling narrative of terroir, time, and masterful craftsmanship.
Château Haut-Brion, the only Premier Grand Cru Classé of 1855 located outside the Médoc, is situated on deep gravel soils in Pessac-Léognan, just southwest of the city of Bordeaux. Its red wines—crafted from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot—are renowned for their smoky tobacco, graphite, and earthy complexity, layered over velvety tannins and marked by exceptional longevity. In magnum, these qualities gain even greater nuance and structure over time.
Among this vertical, four received perfect 100-point scores from The Wine Advocate—each a benchmark of Haut-Brion’s excellence and a touchstone for collectors.
1998 Château Haut Brion 1500ml
A profound expression of Pessac-Léognan, the 1998 Haut-Brion reveals extraordinary depth and purity in a vintage that favored Merlot. Aromas of black cherry, scorched earth, cedar, and cigar ash rise from the glass, followed by a palate of concentration and finesse. Supple yet enduring tannins frame a wine of sensuality and structure. Opulent, complex, and built for the ages.
2005 Château Haut Brion 1500 ml
From a near-perfect vintage, this wine is monumental in depth and balance. A brooding core of black fruit, graphite, incense, and scorched earth is lifted by vibrant acidity and muscular tannins. Despite its power, it retains remarkable poise and purity. Still youthful, with decades ahead.
2009 Château Haut Brion 1500ml
Opulent yet impeccably balanced, the 2009 delivers explosive aromas of blackberry, licorice, roasted coffee, and crushed stone. Silky tannins and immense concentration make this vintage both hedonistic and unmistakably Graves in soul.
2015 Château Haut Brion 1500ml
Sleek, expressive, and deeply layered, the 2015 captures the warmth of the vintage while preserving Haut-Brion’s signature elegance. Notes of ripe plum, graphite, tobacco leaf, and crushed herbs lead to a luxuriously textured, graceful finish.
