Begonias are attractive true shade plants that will grow large bright flowers for almost the entire summer. Begonias are an ideal plant for your patio where you can enjoy the unique flowers all summer to first frost. This bulb kit makes planting simple and comes complete with soil, bulbs and a large resin, woven planter. Just remove the packaging, plant the bulbs in the soil, add water and let Mother Nature take care of the rest. No green thumb is needed for success.Product Details

Planting Tips & Instructions
  • Growing:
  • Begonias are bulbs that thrive best in partial shade. The hotter your growing region, the more shade they prefer.
  • For best results (stronger stems, fewer but more spectacular flowers), pinch off all but 2 to 4 stems while the plants are young and developing.
  • Begonias generally take from 10 to 12 weeks to bloom and will then bloom until the season ends.
  • Taking Care:
  • Keep your Begonias healthy by removing dead flowers, leaves and stems and fertilize once a month.
  • Water as needed during active growth periods, but allow the soil to become dry between watering.
  • Winterizing:
  • Begonias cannot tolerate frost.
  • In fall, once flowering ceases and before the first frost, bring in Begonias for the winter. After drying a day or two, dug tubers can be stored in layers of vermiculite or sawdust at approximately 40 °F to 45 °F (5 °C to 7 °C).
