History
This 6 bottle set is a limited release from Château Petrus and is an opportunity to acquire some of their most sought-after vintages. The set contains 1 x 750ml bottle of each vintage from 2007 to 2012.
Chateau Petrus is a prestigious wine estate located in the Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux, France. It produces a red wine made entirely from Merlot grapes, which are grown on a unique soil of dark clay and iron-rich subsoil. The estate has a history dating back to the 18th century, but rose to fame in the 20th century thanks to the efforts of Madame Loubat and Jean-Pierre Moueix, who marketed the wine internationally. Chateau Petrus is widely regarded as one of the finest and most expensive wines in the world, with a distinctive style and character that reflects its terroir and winemaking techniques. The wine has a long aging potential and can improve for decades in the bottle. Production each year is very limited and it is highly sought-after by collectors and connoisseurs; therefore it often commands prices of thousands of dollars per bottle.

Critic Tasting Notes: “Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Petrus has a sumptuous bouquet with ample mulberry, truffle and pain d'epices aromas that are beautifully defined. It just seems to gain more and more volume in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, plenty of leather-tinged red fruit, clove and black pepper, a Pomerol with quite a sturdy finish that should see it age with style. Critic’s Tasting Notes: “It is hard to call Petrus a “sleeper of the vintage,” but the 2008 will merit more attention than most consumers would think. Low yields of 30 hectoliters per hectare resulted in only 25,000 bottles of this beauty. A wine of great intensity (possibly the most concentrated wine of the vintage), this 100% Merlot boasts a dark purple color as well as a sweet perfume of mocha, caramel, black cherries, black currants, earth and forest floor. Deep, unctuously textured, full-bodied and pure, it will benefit from 4-5 years of cellaring and should drink well for 25-30+ years.” - Robert M. Parker, Jr.

Full-bodied, the palate is beautifully poised with a firm line of exquisitely ripe, fine-grained tannins and fantastic freshness bolstering the generous fruit, finishing very long and very, very classy. All Merlot as always, it's still youthfully ruby/plum-hued yet has a kiss of maturity in its smoky red and black fruits as well as incredible aromatics of tobacco leaf, lead pencil, chocolate, and scorched earth. Deep, full-bodied, and concentrated, it has classic Petrus power and richness, beautifully integrated tannins, a stacked mid-palate, and a gorgeous finish. This beauty builds beautifully with time in the glass and has another 20-30 years of prime drinking.” - Jeb Dunnuck
