Champagne Barons De Rothschild Brut and Rose Halves 4 Pack, 375ml CA ONLY
Celebrate the Holidays with this wonderful assortment of champagne from the legendary Rothschild Family! Created in 2005, Champagne Barons de Rothschild was born from a unique and unprecedented alliance between the three branches of the Rothschild Family - today represented by Philippe Sereys de Rothschild (Château Mouton Rothschild), Ariane de Rothschild (Château Clarke), Baron Eric and his daughter Saskia de Rothschild (Château Lafite Rothschild). Passionate about the greatest terroirs in France and around the world, the Barons have joined forces, for the first time in their history, to create a Champagne House and craft their unique interpretation of a ‘Grand Vin de Champagne’ together.
Respecting the highest standards of all the Family's fine wines, the crafting of each Barons de Rothschild champagne is a masterpiece of craftsmanship founded on 5 pillars:
THE CHARDONNAY: the House's hallmark and over 70% of its total grape supplies. It makes up no less than 50-60% of all our champagnes’ blends.
THE GRAND AND PREMIER CRUS: 90% of the House's grapes supply from a total of 85 hectares of vineyards. The Family has built its vineyards from among the exceptional terroirs of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims and works closely with the winegrowers to guarantee quality and traceability while respecting the environment.
RESERVE WINES: over 40% of the blend of our non-vintage champagnes are composed of reserve wines, a rarity in Champagne, which provide balance and harmony. The majority of these wines are stored in a perpetual reserve (solera) created from the first harvest in 2005.
PURITY OF DOSAGE: with between 1.5 and 6 g/l maximum, our range of wines is among the least ‘dosed’ in Champagne, allowing the origin of the wine and the typical character of the terroirs to show through unimpeded.
TIME: a guarantee of quality and excellence with an exceptionally long period of bottle aging, from about 4 years for the Brut to over 10 years for the vintage champagnes. After disgorgement, the champagne rests for at least another 6 months and sometimes for over a year in order to attain the perfect balance.
Each unit contains two 375ml bottles of each of the following wines.

A very fine blended wine based on a majority of Chardonnay, the Rothschild Family’s take on the great Champagne tradition. This cuvée is a complex blend of 60% Chardonnay primarily from the Côte des Blancs Grands crus and Premiers crus; and 40% Pinot Noir primarily from Verzenay, Ay, Mareuil-sur-Ay, and Ambonnay. Reserve wines are used for up to 40% of the blend, an exceptional sign of quality and consistency over time. Low dosage and at least six months’ time after disgorging.
Made up of 60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir; over 85% Grands & Premiers Crus and 40% Reserve Wines. Dosage is low at 6g/l. Aging on the lees of 3.5 years minimum. 6 months minimum rest after disgorgement.
Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: Bright and clear pale gold tints woven with very fine bubbles. Freshness on the nose of the Chardonnay, with aromas of white flesh fruit such as pears and nectarines, ethereal touches of peony expressed by the Pinot Noir. On the palate, roundness and generosity accompany a lovely verticality. Crisp nectarine, notes of honey, saffron and pepper nicely set off by lovely bitters on the finish.
Critic’s Tasting Notes: “This Champagne, made for the three Bordeaux wine making branches of the Rothschild family, is beautifully mature. It has richness, toast and elegance along with hints of brighter fruitiness. Crisply textured at the end while adding acidity to the mix, it is ready to drink.” — 93 pts, Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast

Barons de Rothschild Champagne Rosé results from experienced blending of 85% Chardonnay primarily from the Côte des Blancs crus (Avize, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger…) and 15% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, 7 to 12% of which has been delicately vinified in red. Reserve wines are used for a minimum of 40% of the blend. Very low dosage and careful aging after disgorging (3 months).
Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: Very fine strands of bubbles, fine, sustained frothiness, lovely pale pink robe with slightly salmon tints. On the nose, fine and subtle springtime aromas, with scents of rose petal, wild strawberries and a hint of lemon peel. On the palate, fresh and highly concise attack followed by silky mellowness with very light raspberry. Deliciously rich balance and lingering finish.
Critic’s Tasting Notes: “This is a fruity and fresh rosé Champagne with strawberry and cherry flavors and fine and creamy bubbles that give the wine a beautiful texture and finish. Long and focused. Drink now.” - 93 pts, James Suckling
