Kirkland Signature Rutherford Cabernet is from the historic Rutherford AVA in Napa Valley, California. Its volcanic gravel and loam terroir gives this wine its classic “Rutherford Dust” profile along with sweet, ripe tannins and notes of blackberry, cassis, bing cherry and dark chocolate. The Rutherford appellation has long been one of my favorites. The character of the cabernet produced here leans toward a mocha powder note woven with a combination of red and black fruits. With some of the Napa Valley’s most historic Cabernet houses in the appellation, it continues to be a beloved region for Cabernet Sauvignon. Glenn Hugo, Winemaker.

The fruit for this classic Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon comes from select vineyards in the heart of Napa Valley. Oakville AVA is renowned for producing intensely concentrated, balanced grapes from well-drained soils of gravel and sand. The full-bodied, ripe, black-fruit character of cassis and black cherry is surrounded by supple tannins, well-balanced acidity and spic box notes of vanilla and cedar. The combination builds to a long, lingering finish with grip and bright fruit. “Long respected as a world class region for Cabernet Sauvignon, the Oakville appellation offers darker fruit notes such as black currant and blackberry. Intertwined with this lush fruit character French oak brings out notes of vanilla, baking spice and clove. Stags Leap District AVA is best known for its unique volcanic soil of loam and clay which consistently produce deeply concentrated and elegant examples of Cabernet Sauvignon.
