The Beurer TENS Back Pain Relief System (EM39) is a Transcutaneous Electric Nerve Stimulation device. It provides treatment in the low frequency range and is intended for use of the lower back only. When using the TENS device, weak electrical pulses are transmitted through the skin using two or more electrodes. This stimulates muscles, nerve fibers and acupuncture meridians in order to activate your body’s own pain relief mechanisms. The TENS treatment can help block pain signals in the lower back area by interrupting the transmission of impulses through the skin by means of electric impulses. As a result, the signal “pain” is not transmitted to the brain and thus not felt as pain. Furthermore, it will work with the body’s own pain inhibitors.

How does TENS Work?
This gentle therapy uses soft electrical impulses. Using four conductive pads the signal is passed through the skin of the lower back. This treatment helps support pain relief.
