Kirkland Signature™ 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon - Oakville, Napa Valley
The fruit for this classic Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon comes from select vineyards in the heart of Napa Valley. The Oakville American Viticultural Area (AVA) is renowned for producing intensely concentrated, balanced grapes from well-drained soils of gravel and sand. The full-bodied, ripe black-fruit character of cassis and black cherry is surrounded by supple tannins, well-balanced acidity, and spice box notes of vanilla and cedar. The combination builds to a long, lingering finish with grip and bright fruit.

The Oakville AVA is located within the Napa Valley AVA and centered around the town of Oakville, California. The combination of Mediterranean-like climate, geography and geology of the region are conducive to growing quality wine grapes, especially the Bordeaux grape varietals. The soil of the Oakville AVA is the result of sedimentary deposits from the hills that form Napa Valley. The portion of the AVA between State Route 29 and the Silverado Trail is a mix of clay and sandy loam.
