Freeze-dried foods are superior to both frozen and dehydrated products because they can be stored at room temperature. They also retain their original texture, flavor, and nutritional value! When meats go through the freeze-drying process, all moisture is completely removed. However, by soaking your desired amount of meat in hot water for 5-10 minutes, it will reconstitute into its original form. Freeze-dried meats are shelf stable for 25 + years (when sealed and stored in optimal conditions).
