Beemster is a Dutch, farmer-owned cooperative founded in 1901, renowned for producing premium artisanal Gouda cheese using traditional, handcrafted methods. Based on sustainable, grass-fed dairy farming in the nutrient-rich Beemster Polder, the cooperative prioritizes high animal welfare, carbon-neutral production, and rich, distinctive flavors ranging from mellow to robust. Over the years, Beemster has expanded its range to offer Gouda in various ages and flavor profiles.
Beemster Smoked Hatch Pepper Gouda is a semi-soft, Dutch-style cheese made from 100% pasteurized cow’s milk. It is infused with authentic, earthy Hatch green chiles from New Mexico and naturally smoked over hickory wood. This cheese combines a creamy, nutty Gouda base with a mild-to-medium spicy kick and a savory, smoky finish. Perfect for melting into mac and cheese, burgers, and quesadillas, or as a bold addition to a charcuterie board.
