A wonderful wife, mother and friend inspired MAE Fine Foods.  Melinda Ann Elwell loved sweets and dreamed of opening a chocolate shop. She often joked that her shop would not be successful because she would give all the proceeds to her friends and favorite charities. She and her husband, along with their three children, enjoyed spending quality time in their kitchen, laughing as they enjoyed gourmet meals and delectable desserts. They were known for their generosity and love.

Mindy passed away in 2016, after a five-year battle against brain cancer. In memory of his strong and graceful bride, entrepreneur Rich Elwell embraced his creative energy to couple their family’s
packaging company with his wife’s love of chocolate. Elwells’ memory then inspired the creation of  MAE Fine Foods.

This Bundle includes our classic flavor collection of French macaron, a sweet, delicate sandwich cookie made from two meringue-based shells filled with ganache, buttercream, or jam. Its shells are made from egg whites, sugar, and almond flour, resulting in a cookie that is crisp on the outside and slightly chewy on the inside. They are often colorful and are a popular choice for special occasions. 

We also include our French-style bonbons are small, bite-sized confections, often chocolate-covered, with a flavorful center like ganache, praline, or fruit puree. Originally served to French royalty in the 17th century, they are now known for their craftsmanship, refined presentation, and a wide variety of fillings. The word "bonbon" comes from the French word "bon," meaning "good".
