As a vertically-integrated company, ORES creates their El Cerro Serrano Ham with complete traceability from start to finish. From genetics to diet, veterinary care, and rearing on the pasturelands of select farms, ORES carefully optimizes every aspect of each pig's life. Processing, curing, and packaging is also done at facilities owned and operated by ORES, affording the company control and visibility at every step of production. This process results in flavorful Serrano Ham of a consistent, high quality.  El Cerro Serrano Ham is made using a traditional, all-natural recipe of pork ham and sea salt with no added nitrites or nitrates. Serrano is generally less fatty than its Italian counterpart, Prosciutto, giving it a firmer texture and a more intense salty, meaty flavor. El Cerro Serrano is extra-aged for a minimum of 17 months to further deepen its nuanced taste. The ham is skinless and boneless for ease of handling as well as maximum yield for slicing.
